From Laboratory Planning to Histopathology Workflow — One Solution Partner
Zenaca Healthcare equips diagnostic centres, hospital pathology departments, and medical teaching institutions with complete, cohesive histopathology workflows — from grossing station layout to tissue processing, microtomy, staining, and high-clarity diagnostic microscopy.
The 7-Stage Histopathology Process
Standardized in compliance with CAP (College of American Pathologists) and international histotechnology protocols for cellular architecture preservation.
Fixation & Gross Examination
Specimen preservation using 10% Neutral Buffered Formalin (NBF, pH 7.0–7.4) to halt autolysis and enzymatic decomposition, followed by macroscopic dissection and cassette labeling.
- Laminar downdraft ventilation tables (<0.75 ppm OSHA vapor limits)
- Solvent-resistant, high-density biopsy cassettes with secure lids
- Precision grossing scalpels, bone saws, and metric calibration
Automated Tissue Processing
Multi-phase chemical sequence: graded dehydration (70%–100% ethyl alcohols), clearing (high-purity xylene or safe hydrocarbon clearing agents), and molten paraffin wax infiltration.
- Enclosed vacuum processors with programmable overnight delay cycles
- Vacuum-assisted infiltration to eliminate air pockets in dense tissue
- Emergency power-failure tissue protection protocols
Paraffin Embedding & Block Casting
Orienting processed specimens precisely in stainless steel base molds and casting in histological paraffin wax (melting point 56°C–58°C) to form stable FFPE blocks.
- Heated paraffin dispensing console with flow-meter control
- Rapid sub-zero cold plates (-5°C to -10°C) for fast block solidification
- Standardized orientation molds ensuring accurate sectioning planes
Precision Rotary Microtomy
Sectioning Formalin-Fixed Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE) blocks into continuous, ultra-thin tissue ribbons at standard 3 to 5 micrometer (µm) thickness for cellular clarity.
- Heavy-base, vibration-free mechanical handwheel advance
- Micro-adjustable knife angle holders (high- & low-profile blades)
- Universal cassette clamping with 3D specimen orientation
Water Flotation Bath & Slide Mounting
Floating tissue ribbons on a thermostatically regulated 42°C–45°C water bath to eliminate compression wrinkles, mounted onto adhesion microscope slides, and dried.
- Anti-glare black anodized water baths preventing reflection artifacts
- Positively charged silane-coated / poly-L-lysine adhesion slides
- Thermostatic slide warming tables (58°C–60°C) for optimal de-wax bonding
Routine (H&E) & Special Staining
Deparaffinization in xylene, rehydration, and staining with Hematoxylin (nuclear chromatin detail) and Eosin Y (cytoplasmic and connective tissue distinction).
- Multi-jar progressive & regressive H&E staining workstations
- Support for Special Stains: PAS, Masson's Trichrome, ZN, Reticulin
- Optimized differentiation, bluing, and counter-staining quality control
Coverslipping & Diagnostic Microscopy
Clearing stained slides and mounting with refractive-matched synthetic resin (DPX) under optical coverslips for permanent archival preservation and diagnostic evaluation.
- Bubble-free, non-yellowing histological mounting medium (DPX)
- Plan achromatic binocular & trinocular laboratory microscopes
- High-resolution digital camera interface for tele-pathology reporting
Histopathology Support Across North India
Setting up an anatomic pathology suite involves chemical safety, vapor ventilation, micro-precision equipment, and specific technician skills.
Ventilation & Lab Layout
Assisting with spatial arrangement so toxic formalin and xylene fumes do not infiltrate patient or general laboratory areas.
Equipment Calibration
Microtome blade clearance angle adjustments, paraffin temperature calibration, and water bath temperature verification.
Consumables Continuity
Mohali stock of cassettes, disposable microtome blades, paraffin wax with polymers, and histology slides.
Operator Orientation
Practical training on tissue processor programming, microtome maintenance, and knife-mark artifact prevention.
